    Description

    "Souvenir of / Winslow, Arizona"
Here is a very striking antique plate featuring two birds (grouse?)  Plate measures 7-1/4"  across.
Winslow was home to the last "Harvey House" built in 1930 along the Santa Fe railroad line.  Designed by famous architect Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter and called "La Posada", it was closed in 1957 and the Railroad abandoned the property in 1994.  It was then purchased by Allan Affeldt; he restored it as the La Posada Hotel, which is still in operation today.
Winslow was also on Route 66, until the I-40 by-passed it in the late 1970's.   2010 census shows a population of 9,655.
This would be a great collector piece for the Winslow, Arizona, Ariz., AZ, Navajo County, ornithology (bird) watchers, Route 66, and Santa Fe RR collectors.
