The item up for bids is a circa 1966 Mickey Mouse 'Magnetic Funnies' No. 8310 play set by Winthrop Toy. The game appears unopened and retains most of its original cellophane wrap. The box features incredible graphics with various Disney characters trapped in burning buildings as other Disney characters attempt rescue with a hook and ladder fire engine. Two gleeful 1960s children look on excitedly as Geppetto's store is engulfed by flames – will Snow White survive? According to the box the contents include:
Giant 9 1/2" x 15" metal board
Over 35 colorful play pieces including Disney characters
Easy to apply self-stick magnets
The title tag line on the box reads, "Now everyone can make

of Walt Disney cartoons with Mickey Mouse Magnetic Funnies." On the lower left the box is signed

MCMLXVI, Walt Disney Productions. On various spots on the sides it is marked No. 8310, Winthrop Toy, Winthrop-Atkins Co., Inc., Middleboro, Mass. The Disney characters pictured on the box include Snow White, Jiminy Cricket, Mowgli (?), Pinocchio, several of the Seven Dwarfs, Pluto and or Goofy, Donald Duck, Geppetto, and of course Mickey Mouse. It's a relatively scarce toy with very scary graphics, a perfect display piece for the vintage Walt Disney collection -- have some fun and bid!
Condition
:
The condition is good vintage, especially when considering it's 55 years old. The colors and graphics look great, everything is bright and crisp. The box is sealed in the original cellophane wrapper and appears unopened. The cellophane is aged and delicate. There are tears and losses primarily on the bottom of the box (photo 11 -- the border of the missing cellophane is roughly from the edges of the box to the red arrows). There are corresponding losses on the sides as well. The cellophane on the top is largely intact so it displays pretty well. The exterior shows age appropriate handling and storage wear with dust, surface grime, and scattered spotting under the cellophane. The box is mildly squashed in spots, and there is separation on the corner where the cellophane wrap is damaged (photo 10). I don't know the condition of the contents because obviously I won't be opening it. The pictures are the best indicator as to condition, please use the zoom feature and check them out.
