Rare WILWERDING Painting PEKINGESE Dog Original Listed Artist Signed
Offering an original Walter Joseph WILWERDING Oil/Acrylic on board. Signed lower right.  Adorable portrayal of Pekingese napping in his basket.  Listed artist (1899-1966) known for his depictions  of animals. Numerous trips to Africa to portray wild animals. Illustrator for Sports Afield. Wrote numerous books.
Includes copy of Biographical sketch written and typed by Wilwerding.  Taped to back of painting.  Quote--  "My philosophy toward nature is that it was put here for man's enjoyment and not for man to destroy."
Gilt wood frame.  Please note minor paint loss/scratches which can be "touched up." See images.  Otherwise painting is in excellent vintage condition. Colors are bright and vivid.
