    This is a signed "Louis Mathias Leo" original watercolor / gouache of a landscape in the Palm Springs area of Southern California. Although he lived in Los Angeles Leo frequently painted in the Palm Springs area. His landscapes rarely come available.
    Leo was born in 1871 in Prague, Austria. He graduated from the Royal Academy in Brussels in 1906. In that year he immigrated to Los Angeles. Tragically while crossing the street in Los Angeles he was fatally struck by a car on March 4, 1958.
    Frame measures 17" by 21 1/2". Painting measures 12" by 15". Exceptional portrayal of
