I purchased this piece at an estate sale in NJ....along with a wonderful and rare brass Polish menorah.
I know virtually nothing about this piece, however, as I have been unable to find any signatures.
The oil painting is on cardboard and features a young orthodox man with beard. The man's eyes are quite striking.
The painting is 8” x 10”. Interesting, the backing has a cut cardboard from an album cover of Gigi which I think was out in the 1950's. Whether that speaks to age or not, I don't know but it probably dates when the piece was put in this frame.
You may note that there is a line on the bottom of the picture which appears like it was in a frame prior to this one.
The frame is 12” x 14” and is solid wood.
