Detailed street scene painted by a young man that captures the reaction of a Mother and Son witnessing a fire on the cobblestone streets of Philadelphia, specifically the Frankford section. The time period would be the late 1930's through 1940 as the artist, known specifically for another genre, created work for which he is detailed on Wikipedia from 1935-1939.
Signed Jack (John) 1921-1998. Known award winning artist, different genre, that has had an oil painting that hung on display in the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Woodmere Art Museum and the Philadelphia Convention Center many decades ago. Artist resided at 1700 Frankford Ave. which at the time was a saloon on the corner of Columbia Ave.
NOT a prolific artist. Works of a different genre converted to print and amongst new university collections being discovered. Amongst amateur art are communications between other founders of a different field of study.
